Spelling Bee

Summary: The spelling bee is a school and county wide event, normally held in the month of February.       

Purpose: To encourage proper spelling at the schoolk and county level

The Process: Students compete in a classroom spelling bee first. Each classroom winner then goes on to compete in the school wide event.  One student from each class, in each grade level, will then compete against each other.  The overall winner from each grade level will receive a trophy at the end of the school wide competition. The winner from the fourth and fifth grade competition moves on to the county spelling bee where they compete against other students from around the county.
